My name is Kathleen, and I am sort of a tame version of a gamer nerd. By "tamer", I mean that a bunch of my friends are actual gamer nerds and they outshine me by far. I am currently most interested in Mario Kart Wii and the Sims 2 and 3. Hence, the tame.
My life is kind of like a modern-day fairy tale love story: I spent my whole life searching for my dreamboy, and then one day I realized my dreamboy was right in front of me all along, posing as my best friend. However, that is not the end of my story! Well, of course not, as I'm still here.
I like music a lot. I play piano and clarinet and saxophone and a bit of cello, and I'd like to learn some guitar. I also love listening to music (from classical to jazz to alternative rock to videogame), but rather than spouting off a huge list of favourite bands, I'll just leave it with this: I want to marry Radiohead.
Although I may not broadcast it too often, I have a particular fascination with words, generally of the English variety. This stems from both the extreme coolness that is language and from my lexical-gustatory synesthesia, which lets me taste words. I think this is also why I'm so into spelling and being Canadian about it; all those extra u's and whatnot make words a lot richer and fuller.
Dreams also fascinate me. Lucid dreaming would be my favourite hobby if I could just get the hang of it. Instead, if I do happen to find myself realizing the dream, I usually forget about it within a couple of dream-minutes without having done anything really worthwhile. The coolest of which was definitely my turkey dream (I was going to link to it in my journal, but I'm not so sure it's there after all. Ask if you feel the need).
